Tractor pull coming up in Bakersville

The Bakersville Summer Showdown Deadweight Pull will be held Saturday, June 17, at Bud Hawk Arena in Bakersville.

Scales will be on and signup will open at 8 a.m. Start time is 9 a.m. for the following classes: 6,500lb, 8,500lb, 11,000lb, 13,000lb. Eighteen inch hitch cut tires are allowed, but no weights can be hanging behind the tires.

There is a $10 entry fee and two drivers per tractor. Cost is $5 to enter kiddie in. Every class winner takes all. There is a $100 purse in each class, first – $50; second – $30; and third – $20.

Breakfast will be served from 7-10 a.m. at the park eat stand. The pop barn at the arena will be ran by a 4-H club. Food and drinks will be available. Barbecued chicken will be served by the Bakersville Volunteer Fire Department at 4 p.m. at the park eat stand.
