John Edwin Ringwalt

John Edwin Ringwalt, age 88, passed away July 30, 2023 at Altercare of Coshocton under the care of Community Hospice.

He was born Feb. 21, 1935 at the Ringwalt Homestead in New Castle to the late Harry L. and Lizzie (Fisher) Ringwalt. After his mother Lizzie passed away, he was raised by a special lady, Helen N. Bechtol, who also raised the other Ringwalt children who all preceded John in death. They were Harry J. Ringwalt, Geraldine Ashcraft, Charlene Stingel, James L. Ringwalt, Mary Louise Ringwalt, and a baby brother who passed away after birth.

John was a 1953 graduate of Warsaw High School. He served in the United States Army & Army Reserves from 1957-1962. He was a member of the Nellie United Methodist Church, and Grand Lodge of F & A.M. of Bladensburg.

He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Colleen (Taylor) Ringwalt, whom he married June 20, 1954; their two children, Tammy (Bill) Eddy of Illinois, and John E. (Kris) Ringwalt, Jr. of Warsaw; his grandchildren & great-grandchildren, Staci (Jake) Thompson and Kinsley, Kerry (Blake) Kiefner and Chloe, and Billy Eddy all of Illinois, Ryan (Katie) Ringwalt and Palmer & Beckham of Sunbury; and a sister-in-law, Kay Ringwalt of Danville.

Per John’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no services. His ashes will be spread by his family at various locations that were dear to him. Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw is handling arrangements. www.fischerfuneralhome.com
