Betty Lou Housholder

Betty Lou Housholder, 93, of West Lafayette, passed away at Signature Healthcare in Coshocton on Monday, August 7, 2023.

Betty was born in Coshocton on June 14, 1930, to the late Joseph “L.J.” and Viola Jenny (Retzler) Ames.  She graduated from Coshocton High School, worked at Ames Meat Market until 1949 and then was a homemaker taking care of and raising her family.

She was a member of Central Christian Church, enjoyed traveling, going to the beach, and family get togethers.  Keeping her family together was of upmost importance to her.

Betty is survived by her two children, Scot Housholder of Coshocton and Michelle (Daniel) Funk of Conesville; five grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lewis Housholder; son Mike Housholder; two sisters Carol (Bud) Mitchell and Joan (Ron) Harper.

Friends may call at The Miller Funeral Home, 639 Main St., Coshocton, on Friday, August 11, 2023, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM where funeral services will begin at 11:00 AM with Sheldon Mencer officiating.  Interment will follow in Fairfield Cemetery, West Lafayette.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Coshocton County Animal Shelter, 21755 TR 164, Coshocton, Ohio 43812; envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
