United Way reaches $300,000 goal for 2022-23 campaign

United Way of Coshocton County has reached the campaign goal of $300,000 for the 2022-23 campaign thanks to the generous donations of the community. This final surge in money was made possible thanks to the generosity of the 2022-23 corporate sponsor Genesis Healthcare System, CEO Matt Perry. Perry agreed to personally match additional donations made up to $8,000 to help the agency reach the goal for this campaign ending on Aug. 31.

United Way and Genesis and held a week-long Dash for the Goal radiothon event on WTNS Aug. 7-10. Donors called into the radio station to make pledges. Thank you to Buckeye Brine, the Coshocton Foundation Bechtol Fund, Babcock Trucking and Excavating Ltd, the Butcher Family, the Wallace family and all of our other donor for their support during this match campaign. Although the goal has been met, United Way will continue to accept any other funds until Aug. 31.

United Way of Coshocton County Executive Director Emma Mitchell said, “We are thankful for the assistance of Matt Perry and the Genesis Healthcare Systems team for helping us reach our campaign goal, our partner agencies who shared their stories during our radio event, the WTNS staff and Mike Bechtol for hosting us on the talk show for the week and most importantly the Coshocton community for continually supporting our United Way through their generous donations.”

Steve Oster, board president of United Way of Coshocton County said, “To be part of something as impactful as United Way’s Campaign and to reach our goal is because of the support of the community. I was able to witness first-hand how people open their hearts and pour out every ounce of thoughtfulness and compassion simply for the betterment of others. That’s what makes United Way so great: people helping people, to make a community stronger which makes us united more than ever. Thank you to Matt Perry for offering matching funds to help us cross the finish line. We appreciate all the donors who support United Way and the agencies who provide much needed services.”

United Way of Coshocton County has been around for more than 83 years with the mission statement of uniting neighbors and resources to positively impact lives in Coshocton County.
