Coshocton Rotary elects new officers
Coshocton Rotary officers for the 2023-24 year were recently installed at Lock Landing, the club’s meeting place in Roscoe Village.
Installed were Cecilia Balogh, president; Jason Given, president-elect, club service projects chair; Jason Hammond, president-nominee, community service chair; Doug Marmie, secretary; Casey Brown, treasurer; Mary Ellen Given, club membership chair; Thomas Heading, past-president; Tisha Babcock, sergeant-at-arms; Gordon Spillman, club TRF chair; Roxanne Potter, international service chair; and Darrell Lee, vocational service chair.
The Rotary Club has been serving Coshocton for more than 100 years in nearly every aspect of community improvement. One of the most visible has been the ongoing Rotary flag project. Other recent projects include the sunflower project, wherein, at the conclusion of the sunflower festival, remaining flowers were gathered, put in vases and delivered to local nursing homes, so that each patient could have a sunflower at their bedside.
A shoe drive was completed prior to the beginning of school, where contributions from Rotarians were used to provide locally-purchased shoes for 50 needy area children.
Dozens of other community projects are ongoing throughout the year. For information about the Coshocton Rotary Club, visit www.coshoctonrotary.org.
