CHS comes back to down TCC

Saturday afternoon, Oct. 7, in New Philadelphia, the Coshocton Redskins volleyball team shook off a slow start to claim victory over the Tuscarawas Central Catholic Saints by the scores of 10-25, 25-23, 25-22, and 25-23.

Lacey Guthrie led the way in four statistical categories, pounding 10 kills, dishing out 12 assists while having two blocks and serving up three aces. Kenidi Jackson and Leah Mathis each had seven kills for the Redskins to help the offense. Jackson was also the digs leader with 14, while Saige Abbott added 12.
The win improves the Redskins to 9-11 overall, while the Saints fall to 8-9.
The Redskins swept the day by taking the JV contest 25-12, 10-25, 25-19. Mallorie Stamper slammed eight kills and served up four aces. Chloe Talbott had six kills and Kylee Raber added three.
The volleyball team is back in action Tuesday, Oct. 10, when they travel to Duncan Falls to take on Philo. First preliminary match is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m.
