John Lawrence Kunzi

John Lawrence Kunzi, age 75, of Coshocton, formally of Phoenix, Arizona, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 18, 2023. He was born in Lansing, Michigan on December 28, 1947 to the late Clayton and Erma (Flansburg) Kunzi.

John joined the United States Army, serving his country proudly. He served  two tours of Vietnam, receiving two purple hearts, a bronze star and a silver star. John deeply loved his country.

He married Ruth (Charbonneau) Kunzi in Lansing, Michigan, who passed away in 2018. John loved fast cars and fast woman! He was in a biker club for many years and enjoyed building custom trikes. He collected guns and knives making handmade knives for many years. John enjoyed fishing, shooting and spending time with family and friends. But most importantly, John loved his wife, his mother, his kids, his grandkids and his ladies.

John is survived by his two daughters, Tina (Dennis) Tietz of Mesa, Arizona and Heidi (Jon) Floate of Coshocton; caregivers and dear friends, Betsy “Skeeter” (Niki) Snelling of Coshocton; and grandchildren,  Ben, Lucas and Ian Tietz and Tyler, Zack and Sara Floate.

Military Honors will be conducted at Given-Dawson-Paisley Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 31, 2023 at 1:00 pm. All family, friends, and Veterans are welcome to attend.  Per John’s wishes, a cremation took place.
