Enjoy a scholarly chat with Dr. Scott Butler
Come to the Johnson-Humrickhouse Museum on Thursday, Nov. 16 at 6 p.m. for a scholarly chat with Dr. Scott Butler titled “Coshocton and the World in the 18th Century.” Dr. Butler is a man of research with a Ph.D. in Astrophysics, Quantum Mechanics, specializing in atomic physics, and a professional career in structured finance applied to corporate real estate.
The first Coshocton was founded around the year 1748. This talk will take known information about Coshocton and connect them to world events. Events in Coshocton and Ohio shaped the course of history of the United States and the world in major ways. All this will be documented in the talk and new information about Coshocton will be presented. At the conclusion of the chat, the winners of the 2023 Mary Harris Prizes essay contest will be announced and awards will be presented.
Admission to the chat is $4 for adults, $3 for students, and free admission for Friends of the Museum members and participants of the Mary Harris Prizes Essay Contest.
The Johnson-Humrickhouse Museum is located at 300 N. Whitewoman St. in Coshocton. The Ohio Arts Council also helped fund this event with state tax dollars to encourage economic growth, educational excellence and cultural enrichment for all Ohioans. Museum hours are Tuesday through Sunday, noon to 4 p.m. Every Sunday offers free admission to Coshocton County residents.
