Holiday meat certificates available for veterans, surviving spouses

| November 3, 2023

Certificates for holiday meat may be issued to a veteran or a surviving spouse of a veteran who show proof of being a county resident and having been honorably discharged from the armed forces. Certificates will be issued by appointment only at the Coshocton County Veterans Service Office located at 318 Main St., courthouse in Coshocton starting Monday, Nov. 6, and ending on Friday, Dec. 8, or till gone.

Veterans and surviving spouses can make an appointment by calling the office at 740-622-2313.

Certificates will be issued to the veteran or surviving spouse only. A staff member of the veterans service office will review each application.

All veterans and surviving spouses receiving a certificate must be a confirmed resident of Coshocton County for no less than three months as outlined in the financial assistance guidelines. A drivers’ license, photo ID, or current utility bill is required for proof of residency. No more than one certificate will be issued per household.

Veterans/surviving spouses must provide the veteran’s DD-214, NG-22 or reserve discharge orders proving having been honorably discharged from the armed forces.

These certificates are for use only at Buehler’s Fresh Foods, 830 S. Second St. in Coshocton. This certificate is only good toward holiday meat and must be used by Dec. 31, or it becomes void.

The making of false or misleading statements and/or misuse of voucher may permanently disqualify the veteran from receiving future assistance and may be subject to prosecution.

All statements and claims made by the applicant will be investigated.
