Veterans Day ceremony is Nov. 10

The Coshocton County Veterans Council in conjunction with Coshocton County Veterans Service Commission and office staff will conduct the annual Veterans Day Ceremony on Friday, Nov. 10, at 11 a.m. in front of the court house.

Local Blue Star Mothers President Sharon Burns will be the guest speaker and the Director of the Coshocton County Veterans Service Office Doug Schaefer, SgtMaj, USMC/retired is the featured speaker. The Walhonding Rube Band will provide patriotic music, Sam Scott will sing the “Armed Forces Medley” and “TAPS” will be played by Tim Vance and George Clark.

On Saturday, Nov. 11, there also will be a Blue Star Mothers Military Appreciation Day for all Coshocton County veterans and spouses. The event is from 9-11 a.m. in the county community room, corner of Seventh Street and Chestnut Street. Free breakfast, military display and more.

On Thursday, Nov. 16, Prairie Chapel Methodist Church will have a veterans soup supper from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Soups, sandwiches, and desserts will be served for a love offering. Veterans eat free. The church is located at 45494 County Road 23 in Coshocton.
