Addy leads RVHS swimmers

The River View swim teams competed in the Cloverleaf Invitational Meet at Wooster High School on Dec. 30, 2023. The girls’ team placed 10the out of 18 schools, with the boys placing 13th out of 20. Points were awarded for the top 12 in each of the 22 events.

Medaling for the Black Bears was Colin Addy for the boys, who was second (51.94) in the 100 freestyle, and third (23.02) in the 50 free.

In girls’ events, Ally Fischer was seventh (1:13.49) and Riley Gottardi was 10th (1:14.69) in the 100 butterfly, while Gottardi finished sixth (1:12.94), and Fischer 10th (1:15.10) in the 100 backstroke. Lily Grewell was eighth (1:20.79) in the 100 breaststroke, and 12th (2:42.24) in the 200 individual medley. The relay of Gottardi, Fischer, Grewell, and Britany Hammond was seventh (4:31.35) in the 400 free, and eighth (2:14.21) in the 200 medley.

In the boys’ events, the Bears also earned points from Jamison Adams, who was 11th (1:09.37) in the 100 back, and the 400 free relay of JT Allison, Dustin Gregory, Adams, and Addy was 10th (4:34.50).
