Timothy Price McLane

Timothy Price McLane died peacefully and surrounded by his family on January 3, 2024.

Tim is survived by his children T. Price McLane (Meridy) and Rachel Weigel (Rob). He was the proud grandfather known as “Buck” to Price, John and Poppy McLane and Wylie and Oliver Weigel. Tim is also survived by his sister, Mikie Bowles, and nieces, Melissa Schauss and Elizabeth Nelson.

Born on May 14, 1949 in Columbus, Ohio to his parents James Price and Bettie Lee (McCloskey) McLane. Tim graduated from Coshocton High School in 1968 where he still holds many records in football and track and field. He continued his stellar football career with a full ride to Kansas State and then to the NFL where he played for the Kansas City Chiefs.

Tim owned Pomodori’s in Clifton and Montgomery, bringing the first wood-fire pizza oven to the Cincinnati area and serving gourmet pizza and fresh pasta to Cincinnati for decades. He retired in 2018 after 35 years in the restaurant business. Tim was a car aficionado and decorated skeet shooter. He was also an avid sailor, competing many times in “The Race to Mac” (a 289 nautical mile race from Chicago to Mackinac Island).

Tim’s children and grandchildren brought him his greatest happiness. Tim’s legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. He will be remembered for his kind heart and will be hugely missed.

A private memorial service was held at the Indian Hill Church.
