River View swim teams compete

The River View swim teams participated in a tri-meet at the Tuscarawas YMCA on Jan. 10. The girls’ varsity team defeated Dover 89-71, and Ridgewood 89-4, while Dover won the boys’ competition with 89 points, with the Black Bears tying Ridgewood with 30.

Event winners for the girls include the relay of Riley Gottardi, Lily Grewell, Ally Fischer, and Britany Hammond in the 200 medley (2:10.69), and the 200 freestyle (2:01.26), Riley in the 200 free (2:38.44), Fischer in the 100 backstroke (1:14.29), and Grewell in the 100 breaststroke (1:22.40).

Runners-up were Kynsingten McMasters in the 200 free (2:38.80) and the 100 breast (1:27.16), Fischer in the 200 individual medley (2:41.48), Kam McGinnis in the 50 free (32.28), Gottardi in the 100 butterfly (1:15.02), Jillian Johnson in the 100 free (1:12.54), Grewell in the 500 free (6:45.66), Hammond in the 100 back (1:19.08), the 200 free relay of Atyana Milici, Chloee Adams, McMasters, and McGinnis (2:08.55), and the 400 free relay of McGinnis, Ava Lewis, Johnson, and McMasters (5:06.71).

Event winners for the boys’ team were Colin Addy in the 500 free (5:51.84), and Jamison Adams in the 100 back (1:06.19).

Runners-up were Adams in the 200 free (2:27.99), Addy in the 200 IM (2:23.32), and the 200 medley relay of Kyle Roach, Adams, Addy, and Dustin Gregory (2:15.82).
