John “Chug” Markley

John “Chug” Markley, 71 of Warsaw passed away Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at Altercare of Coshocton.  He was born in Coshocton on March 26, 1952 to the late David R. Markley and Wanda (Mizer) Markley-Leppla.

Chug graduated from Coshocton High School in 1971 and retired from AEP in Conesville.  He was an avid hunter, loved being outdoors and enjoyed going to the beach with his family. He also loved playing cards, quoting classic movie lines, and making people laugh with a good joke or an even better story.

Survived by his three daughters Hayley (Chris) Caraballo, Emily (Blair) Higdon, and Katie Hardesty, and three grandsons, Cooper Caraballo, Decker Caraballo, and Jett Higdon. He is also survived by his sister Patricia Miller, and brothers David (Pam) Markley, John (Ann) Leppla, Steve Leppla, and Dave Leppla.

Preceded in death by his parents David R. Markley and Wanda (Mizer) Markley-Leppla, stepfather H. Dave Leppla, his brother Andy Markley, and brother-in-law Tom Miller.

Per John’s wishes, a cremation will take place. A memorial service will be held at a later date. The Miller Funeral Home and Crematory is serving the family. An online memorial is located at www.themillerfuneralhome.com
