Helen Bethel
Helen Bethel, 89, of West Lafayette passed away Saturday May 4, 2024, after a brief illness at Genesis Hospital in Zanesville.
She was born in Athens, Ohio on January 27, 1935, to the late Wilbur and Anges (Scott) Powell.
Helen was a homemaker throughout her life, she treasured her time taking care of her home, her late husband Gary and raising her five children. Later in life, she found a new passion helping to raise her grandchildren and spoiling her great and great-great grandchildren, she will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her children Roger (Donna) Smith, Mary Bethel, Marie (Mark) Cutlip, and Leroy (Melissa) Bethel; 19 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; 14 great-great grandchildren; one brother Roger Powell; several nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Gary Leroy Bethel whom she married July 24, 1960, Gary passed away on July 1, 2022; her daughter Mona Bethel; brother Bill Powell and sister Eileen Pievely.
Friends may call at the Miller Funeral Home, 639 Main Street, Coshocton, Ohio 43812 on Thursday May 9, 2024, from 11:00am – 1:00pm with funeral services beginning at 1:00pm with Ed Rexroad officiating. Burial will follow in Coshocton County Memory Gardens.
