The preschool through sixth grade of Coshocton Christian School presented “Patch the Pirates Goes to the Jungle” by Ron Hamilton.
The summary of the program would be how can we use our time, treasures and talents for the Lord. The missionary in the jungle played by fifth 5th grader, Emma Milletti is getting older and is waiting for God to call someone else to be the missionary. Patch the pirate, played by fifth grader, Ruby Mullett, and her crew Sissy Seagull (Ella Perenoud, sixthth grade), Pixie Pirate (Makayla Farley, sixth grade), Pewee Pirate (Brody Woller, fifth grade) and friend, Samuel (Flint Hamilton, fifth grade) travel to the jungle in search of treasure.
They encounter many obstacles, including wild animals along the way. They encounter elephants, one being Lilly (Mayda Haywood, sixth grader), who goes along with them on their journey. After the treasure gets discovered in crocodile cove, hiding under Crock played by sixth grader, Kamdyn Opphile, plans are made to use the treasure to help Missionary with needs in the jungle including rebuilding the church and finishing building a hospital. Samuel gets called by the Lord to stay as a missionary in the jungle.
The program was applicable to all questioning if we use our time, talents and treasure for the Lord. One of the songs sung by the choir, “The Club Song,” stated that our God is faithful. We should be faithful to Him in all we say and do. Often in our world we give into our worries and anxieties like we heard in the song, “Worry Warthog,” sung by the three warthogs, Achilles Leach, Kayleen Stocker, and Benji Treat. The song says how we often live in misery instead of trusting in the Lord. The next song sung by the choir was, “My Very Best Friend,” that states Jesus, even though He reigns above, from His throne on high, Jesus came to die, tastes His wondrous love, every moment He is near, I know He never will forsake me, He has conquered all my fear, Jesus sticks closer than a brother, on His love I can depend, King of Kings, Lord of Lords, He’s my very best friend.
A song in the middle sung by Samuel (Flint Hamilton) and Sissy Seagull (Ella Perrenoud) was “Here am I Lord, Send Me.” May each of us say that to God and see how He can use us.
