Accident with injury reported on 541

On May 8th, 2024 at approximately 10:28 AM the Coshocton County Sheriff’s Office received a phone call in reference to an accident with injury in the 51000 block of State Route 541, Lafayette Township.

Upon arrival of emergency personal, it was determined that Mustapha Ameur, 49 years old, of Galloway, was traveling East on State Route 541 in a 2021 Freightliner box truck when he lost control going off the right edge of the roadway. Ameur then overcorrected coming back onto the roadway, going across the center line and off the left side of the roadway as the truck traveled through a ditch before striking a tree and coming to a rest.

Ameur had one other passenger who was identified as Bismark Bonney, 54 years old, of Reynoldsburg. Amuer and Bonney were both transported by emergency squad to Coshocton Regional Medical Center for complaint type injuries. Ameur was cited for failure to control.

Assisting the sheriff’s office on scene were the Coshocton County EMS and the West Lafayette Fire Department.
