John D. Shutt

John D. Shutt, 55, of Columbus (formerly of Coshocton) died Wednesday, June 19, 2024.

Born February 24, 1969 in Coshocton, he was the son of the late Carl E. Shutt and Jean E. (Israel) Shutt.

He was a graduate of Coshocton High School.  He played football for the Coshocton Redskins. He attended The Salvation Army Church in Coshocton with his family. He was employed at Ansell-Edmont Manufacturing Company before moving to Columbus to live with his brother, Randall.  While in Columbus, he worked at Worthington Cylinder Corp. then as a dishwasher at Hot Chicken Takeover.

Surviving are two sons: David Shutt of Newark and Mitchell Shutt of Cambridge;  grandchildren; two brothers Randall “Chip” E. Shutt of Columbus and Brian A. Shutt of Coshocton.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son Matthew Shutt; a brother Steven C. Shutt and a sister Julie Shutt.

Services will be held at 12:00 P.M. Friday, July 12, 2024 at the Free Funeral Home, Coshocton with Major Victoria Clark of Wooster Salvation Army officiating.  Burial will follow at Coshocton County Memory Gardens.

Calling hours will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
