Gregory Allen Jones

Gregory Allen Jones, age 64, of Heath, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, July 3, 2024. He was born on November 15, 1959, in Coshocton, to the late Lewis and Ona (Smith) Jones.

Gregory attended Coshocton High School, class of 1979. In 1980, he joined the United States Marine Corp., serving his country proudly until 1983. While in the Marine Corps. He earned the rank of Lance Corporal and served as Sargent of the Guard at Camp Lejeune in Jacksonville, NC. He also was deployed to Japan and Korea.

Gregory was employed as a truck driver with ATS, Penske, and Estes until retiring in 2014. He enjoyed participating in truck rodeos to test his driving skills with other professional truck drivers.

In his free time, he enjoyed woodworking, completing home projects, fishing, motorcycles, and gardening. Greg was an avid Cleveland Browns and OSU football fan and liked to watch NASCAR races.

He was a strong loving man who would help anyone in need. Greg loved telling jokes and making people laugh and smile. He will be sadly missed by his loving family and friends.

He is survived by his daughter Heather (Eric) Stafford of Dresden; four grandchildren, Katherine, Abigail, Adalynn, and Jeremiah; former wife and friend, Denise Jones of Coshocton; brother Rodney (Roberta) Jones of Dresden; sister Kelly (Joe) Deperno of Pennsylvania; many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Calling hours will be Tuesday, July 23, 2024, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm and Wednesday, July 24 from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at Given-Dawson-Paisley Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at Canal Lewisville Cemetery with Pastor Tyler Rollinson officiating. There will also be a luncheon at the Canal Lewisville Church after the graveside services for any friends and family wishing to attend.
