Butcher formally charged with murder
On Aug. 26, at approximately 9:11 p.m. deputies and emergency medical personal were dispatched to the 42000 block of CR 19 in reference to a male with gun shot wounds.
When deputies arrived to the location, they secured the scene and took an 18-year-old male into custody and administered lifesaving first aid to a 36-year-old male with gun shot wounds. The 36-year-old male was pronounced deceased shortly after.
Detectives of the Coshocton County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the scene as well as the Attorney General’s Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) Crime Scene Unit to process the scene.
On Aug. 28, 18-year-old Kaylob J. Butcher of Killbuck, Ohio was formally charged with murder, an unclassified felony. The investigation to this case is still ongoing and active.
Assisting with this investigation is Coshocton County Prosecutors Office, Coshocton County Coroner’s Office, Licking County Coroner’s Office, Coshocton County EMS and Holmes Fire District 1.
