Scarecrows are popping up all over town
The 2024 Scarecrow Town contest is underway. Entries can be made at your residence, place of business or at Clary Gardens along the scarecrow trail. The cost to enter your scarecrow is one bag of candy donated for the Trail and Treat Night to be held at Clary Gardens on Wednesday, Oct. 30.
To enter, email or Facebook message a picture of your scarecrow and make plans to take your candy to Clary Gardens. All entries will be posted to the official scarecrow town Facebook page and can be voted on by the public. Only staff may enter photos of scarecrows on the page.
The community can look through the pictures on the official page and click “like” on their favorites. This will choose the people’s choice award.
Awards will be given based on authenticity, creativity, durability, use of straw and the totality of the scene. Categories include creepiest, pop culture and traditional scarecrow.
To view photos and vote for your favorite, go to Facebook.com/ScarecrowTownOhio. Voters are encouraged to keep checking the entries as new ones may be added throughout October. Some scarecrows you will see include “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown,” “The Mothman,” “Witch way to the Kiwanis Pancake Day,” and “Skip.”
