Shirley Jean Echard
Shirley Jean Echard, age 87, of Dresden, passed away on Wednesday, December 25, 2024. She was born on June 15, 1937, in Circleville, Ohio to the late Charles and Fannie (Carpenter) Strawser.
She married Fred J. Echard on July 15, 1956, and they spent 54 years of marriage together until he passed away on December 28, 2010.
Shirley enjoyed planting flowers and spending time with her family. She will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.
Shirley is survived by her two children, Sue (Bob) Kern and Fred (Tammy) Echard, both of Dresden. Five grandchildren, Amy (Bill) Vorys, Megan (Randy) Eckenroad, Gena (Todd) Wheeler, Fred (Amanda) Echard and Brandi (Tommy) Echard. Five great-grandchildren, Kelsey, Jasmine, Jason, Rosemary and Alanna; two-great-great-grandchildren, Franklyn and Rosalie. Three sisters, Mary Shaffer, Elta Orman and Joy Smith, and many nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents and husband, Shirley was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Kayla Thomas, grandson, Jason Kern and nine siblings.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, January 3, 2025, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Given-Dawson-Paisley Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at the funeral home at 1:00 pm. Burial will be held at Coshocton County Memory Gardens.
