Daniel “Dan” Bruening
Daniel “Dan” Bruening, 73, of Coshocton passed away Sunday, January 19, 2025 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born in St. Petersburg, FL on May 5, 1951 to the late Raymond and Olga (Olsavsky) Bruening.
Dan was a graduate of West Geauga High School and Kent State University. He worked at Edmonts for 27 years as a Industrial Engineer, Annin Flag Company and Coshocton City Parks and Recs, taking care of baseball fields. He was a member of New Life Ministries. He loved golfing, fishing, going to the beach, watching the Buckeyes, and spending time with his family. You could always catch him tinkering and fixing things, he was a handyman that could fix anything. He was also an excellent athlete, whether it was winning the state championship with his high school football team, baseball, or track; he excelled at everything he did.
Dan is survived by the love of his life, Claudia (May) Bruening, who he married June 8, 1996; children Heather Bruening and Hillary Foster; step children Michele (Bo) Fortune and Johnny (Stephanie) Thompson; grandchildren Olivia, Evan, and Ethan Ferguson, Alex (Gus), Sam, and John Thompson, Cameron Collopy, and Sayge (Jeremy) Shaffer; great granddaughter Harper Shaffer; siblings Sharon (Al) house and Chico (Mary) Bruening; the mother of his children Jonnalee Bruening; and his golden retriever, Bailey.
Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his grandson Austin Collopy; and sister Diana Phassalacqua.
A memorial service will be held at New Life Ministries Church, 727 S. 7th Street, Coshocton, OH 43812 on Saturday, January 25, 2025 from 12:00pm – 3:00pm. The Miller Funeral Home and Crematory is serving the family. An online memorial is located at www.themillerfuneralhome.com.
