Joan Marie Blakley
Joan Marie Blakley, 87, of West Lafayette, passed away at Altercare of Coshocton on Thursday February 7, 2025.
Joan was born in Lakewood, Ohio on November 8, 1937, to the late Andrew and Anna Marie (Kovalcik) Sasala.
She graduated from Lourdes Academy in Lakewood, had worked at Ohio Bell, spent many years as a cook at Lafayette Pointe Nursing Home in West Lafayette and treasured her time raising her family.
Joan had quite the green thumb, enjoyed planting and taking care of her flowers and was an excellent cook; she loved preparing meals for her family.
Joan is survived by her two children Michael J. Blakley of West Lafayette and Joseph P. (Sheila Hartsock) Blakley of Kingsport, TN; grandchildren Conner O. Blakley, Celia (Stefan) Madruga and Benjamin Nicklaus Blakley; sister Barbara (Tom) Maloney of Lakewood, OH; brother Joe (Judy) Sasala of Hinckley, OH; several nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter Karen A. Karr; sister Kay (William) Gouslin and her former husband, Joseph A. Blakley.
Per Joan’s wishes a cremation will take place, no services will be observed.
The Miller Funeral Home and Crematory is serving the family.
