Martha Mae Marlatt, age 94, of Coshocton, passed away peacefully on February 19, 2025, at Lafayette Pointe Care Center. She was born September 11, 1930, in Coshocton County to the late Walter and Margaret (Stein) Kaufman.

Upon graduation from West Lafayette High School in 1948, Martha decided to further her education by attending cosmetology school. In 1956, she became the owner and operator of Martha’s Beauty Shop in West Lafayette, and in 1980, she returned to her home on the farm. Although Martha retired after 65 years, she will always be known as a lifelong beautician.

Martha is survived by her children, Verl (Belinda) Marlatt of Coshocton, Marcia (Chuck) Hothem of West Lafayette; two grandsons, Chad (Whitney) Marlatt of West Lafayette, Nathan (Mandy) Ekleberry of West Lafayette; and seven great-grandchildren, Nick, Wyatt, Ella, Lucy, Gage, Cooper, and Stella. She also leaves behind her beloved cat.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Margaret Kaufman, and her brother, Harold Kaufman.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Martha’s caregivers at Lafayette Pointe Care Center for their exceptional care and comfort in brightening her days.  They would also like to thank Interim HealthCare Hospice of New Philadelphia for their service.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at Given-Dawson-Paisley Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 pm with Pastor Bryan Kittner officiating. Burial will follow at South Lawn Cemetery.
