Phillip Dean Porter
Phillip Dean Porter, age 81, of Coshocton, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, April 9, 2025. He was born August 29, 1943, to Herbert and Wilma (Breeden) Porter in Dresden, Ohio.
Phillip served for 2 years in the United States Army and worked as a printer at JII for 40 years. He loved model trains and was a devoted member of the Coshocton Model Railroad Club, AMREC. He was also an avid sports fan, especially of the Browns, Reds, and Cleveland Guardians. In addition to trains and sports, Phillip adored his family. In his younger years, he especially loved taking his granddaughter biking.
Phillip is survived by his son, Dennis Porter of Coshocton; his granddaughter, Carah (Chandler) Porter of Kansas; his brothers, Ronny Porter of Louisiana, Larry Porter of Florida, Mike (Anne) Porter of Columbus, and Jack (Juanita) Porter of Louisiana; and his life-long friend, Elaine Porter of Coshocton.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Rita and Linda; and his brother, Denny.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Given-Dawson-Paisley Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow with Pastor Bill Jones officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Phillip’s name to the Coshocton County Fair Board, c/o The Coshocton Model Railroad Club, 707 Kenilworth Ave, Coshocton, OH 43812.
