Cookies, Cupcakes -N- Such

This week my tasty treats won’t make it to the market until Friday.

Hall-RB-Hill

It is going to get cold this weekend, warm up with some Spiced Apple Wine Jelly. This Jelly is made with Shawnee Springs Winery’s Apple Wine! The apples are from Tastee Apple in Newcomerstown. Eat this jelly on toast, crackers or use as a glaze on your turkey! I will also have French Baquettes and Garlic Naan. Remember the scones at the farmers market? My sister will be giving me a scone tutorial this afternoon so pleased stay tuned for scones! Thank you much.

Keene Creek Farm

Marissa is working the first shift at the market today (10 a.m. to 2 p.m.). She’ll have samples of her pizza dough mixes for you to try. If you’ve got family in town/coming to town for the holidays, these mixes will make up into a quick yet delicious homemade dinner. Top them with some sausage and even a dabble of goat cheese for a little deviation from the norm. Our pork supply continues to diminish, but the countdown is on now…! We will have more of your favorite cuts/products available mid-December. In the cooler we will also have tender fall salad greens, spinach and (new!!!) little herb bundles that are ready to toss in a slow cooker to flavor up any meat or veggie dish. So, so flavorful.

Loveridge House Brand

Good Morning from Knox County. The next time Susie and I work at the store, we will bring our traditional Holiday Gift Packs. Why not give the gift of food this holiday season? Each pack includes one 4 oz. pack of peanut butter, cashew butter, almond butter and smokey almond butter! Our other butters are 8 oz. jars. They will be in an attractive white gift box. We work the first shift, on Black Friday, Thursday, Nov. 29, the day after Thanksgiving.

Strawberry Hill Farm

It’s time to gather some tasty local foods for your Thanksgiving dinner! We’ll have a number of items at the store this week, including free range eggs, acorn squash, sweet potatoes, kohlrabi, kale, Swiss chard, and a few bags of late salad mix from our outdoor garden rows. And of course our strawberry jam and Saving the Seasons cookbooks are available, as always. (It’s time to think of Christmas gifts, too.)

Sunnybook Acres

We are planning to have GMO-free baked goods here this week along with our soaps and body care products. We will have brownies, white and wheat breads, cinnamon rolls, pumpkin nut bread, and granola available.

Thousand Hill Acres LLC

We have been super busy here lately trying to get our projects buttoned up before the snow really starts to fly. Our pigs are doing great! We have four at the butcher shop right now. We will have a few whole hams available by next Wednesday for 3.98 per pound!  What we have left from our most recent pick up at the butchers is in the top 2 shelves and door of the tall upright freezer. There was a few packages of sliced ham left the last we checked! Thanks!

Wholesome Valley Farm

Ground beef from our farm in Holmes County will be available at Local Bounty this week (one-pound chubs). Fresh milk arrived this week too – it’s superb straight out of the jug or to use in cooking up your favorite Thanksgiving dishes. Our potatoes and maple syrup (perfect over roasted sweet potatoes) would be a great addition to any Thanksgiving dinner.
