Local Bounty update
Good morning LB Shoppers: Here’s to hoping spring really does arrive when the calendar tells us it is supposed to in a couple of weeks…!
We are so very excited about all of the changes happening within our market right now. One of them is the addition of a local coffee roaster in the weeks to come – Pink Elephant Coffee Roasters from right up the road in Holmes Co. We are working with them to get product in the store soon and will keep you posted on when you can expect to pick some up. Until then, you can check out Kelley and Mitch’s family business online or on Facebook.
Another change is that we’re hiring a part-time market worker. If you, or someone you know would like to be considered for this position, we need resumes by the end of the day today (Thursday). Please e-mail them to localbountycoshocton@gmail.com.
Here are a few updates from our vendors:
Hillbippie
Hope you have been enjoying the sunshine for the past few days, spring will be here soon! I have been busy in the kitchen baking HAPPY MORNING ROLLS, they are just the right amount of sweet and buttery to start off your day. FRENCH BOULE is the perfect bread for sandwiches, grilled cheese or to sop up marinara sauce from Starfire. PLEASANT PEASANT bread has a nice texture and tons of flavor, made with unbleached white, whole wheat, and rye. I will also have GIRLIE GIRL GRANOLA which has raisins, dried cran and little chocolate chips. As well as PLAIN JANE GRANOLA, just almond slivers! Stop by and see my on Friday.
Keene Creek Farm
Almost all of your family’s favorite cuts of pork are still plentiful in our freezer at Local Bounty. The only thing we are out of in Canadian bacon. But, there is still plenty of peppered bacon, brats, ham loaf and loin chops (marinated in butter and garlic or smoked) to be had. Our Whole Wheat Rustic Herb Pizza Dough Mix is back in stock. One customer said she likes to bake it up into loaves of bread – it definitely has many uses – all resulting in yumminess.
Mill Creek Homestead
We are sorry that some of you are missing our granola. But, our family is in the middle of a four-month mission trip to Zambia, Africa. We will be back in the granola-making business when we return in late April. We made up a lot of soaps and other body care products before we left that are being restocked regularly.
Thousand Hill Acres LLC
After a busy sales week last week, our freezer at Local Bounty has been restocked. Our research into permaculture design is ongoing. We are very excited to get going with the practices. However we are ensuring that all research basis are covered. Stay tuned for more…
Mullet Apiaries
Cold and flu season is still with us. Ugh. But one way to sooth a sore throat is a spoonful of our honey with a little lemon and hot water. Does the trick and helps to keep you hydrated. As usual, we have all your favorite honey products. The bees are still tight in their cluster, but hopefully the warmer temperatures will arrive soon and they will out and about working hard for you.
Thanks for your continued support of our local foods effort.
