Charles Hoop Picture for paperCharles Hoop, 70, of Coshocton passed away at his home surrounded by family on Wednesday March 5, 2014.

Charles was born in Coshocton, Ohio to the late William and Marie (Smith) Hoop Sr. on October 9, 1943.

He had worked at the Coshocton County Sheriff’s Department and was special duty deputy, General Electric, Roscoe Hardware and retired from AEP. Charles loved anything from the mountains in West Virginia to the beach in North Carolina and anything that had to do with the outdoors.  Some of his hobbies included fishing, hunting, riding four wheelers, watching NASCAR, and watching his girls play ball.

He is survived by his wife Leona (King) Hoop whom he married December 23, 1962; Daughters Shelly Hoop and Debbie (Tim) Landaker; granddaughter Kayla Landaker all of Coshocton.

Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his brother William Hoop Jr.

Friends may call at The Miller Funeral Home on Sunday March 9, 2014 from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM and one hour prior to the service on Monday March 10, 2014 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Mark Granger Officiating. Interment will follow in Roscoe Cemetery.

Memorials may be directed to Coshocton County Sportsman’s Club and OSU James Hospital; envelopes will be available at the funeral home.  An online memorial will be located at www.themillerfuneralhome.com.
