Delmont Dobson Picture (2)Delmont Andrew Dobson, Sr., 84 of Conesville, Ohio passed away at Hospice Morrison House in Zanesville on Saturday April 5, 2014 surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Roscoe on October 20, 1929 to the late Cleon “Tinker” Dobson and Lillie (Donley) Dobson.

He served in the US Army and fought in the Korean War. He retired from Clow Water Systems after 28 years of service.

Delmont enjoyed woodworking, hunting, gardening, spending time visiting with family members and just being outdoors.

He is survived by his wife Florence (Donavan) Dobson of the home; daughter Patsy L. (John) Miller of Plainfield; son Delmont Andrew (Debbie) Dobson Jr. of Conesville; five grandchildren Angela (Dusty) Wright of Coshocton, Duane Dobson of Conesville, Allen (Cindy) Braniger of Kimbolton, DeAnn Dobson of Coshocton, DJ (Ashley) Dobson of Conesville; six great grandchildren Mick Wright of Coshocton, Kathren Dobson of Adams Mills, Courtney Wickham of Kimbolton, Ethan Wickham of Kimbolton, Taylor Wickham of Kimbolton and Blaze Dobson of Conesville; three sisters Betty Carroll of Coshocton, Leah (Ronnie) Fisher of Coshocton and Kathryn Nelson of Coshocton; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews.

USFlagSunlightHC1311_X_300_C_YAlong with his parents, he is preceded in death by his son Dayle Dobson; eleven brothers and sisters Oral Dobson, Lenora Wiggins, Winifred Fisher, Raymond Dobson, Wilbert Dobson, Virginia Winegar, Samuel Dobson, Vernon Dobson, John Dobson, Lois Wilde and Elwood Dobson.

Friends may call at The Miller Funeral Home, 639 Main St., Coshocton on Tuesday April 8, 2014 from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.  Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 11:00 AM with Pastor John Armstrong officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Township Cemetery where Coshocton County Veterans Honor Guard will perform military honors. Memorial contributions may be directed to Hospice Morrision House and/or Conesville Fire Department; envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
