RVHS clubs raise funds to fight cancer
WARSAW – The Ninth annual River View High School Club Challenge to raise money for the district’s Relay For Life team was held April 17. Participating clubs included: Art Club, Archery, Chess Club, FCCLA, FFA, German Club, Global Society, Letterman’s Club, Math Club, National Honor Society, Spirit Club and Student Council. A team of staff members also got in on the fun event, which raised a total of $1,458.
Winners in the different events were as follows:
Basketball 3 point shooting (five shots total): First place – Bailey Moore – Letterman’s Club 4/5; second place – Jayden Kelley – Archery Club 3/5
Football Pass (three passes through a tire): First place – Ryan Reigle – Archery Club 3/3; second place – Mr. Ashcraft – Staff 2/3
Frisbee Toss (throw five Frisbees into the Frisbee catcher): There was a three way tie after the first round with three participants making 3 of 5 tosses. A tie breaking round was held and the results were: First place – Whitney Fender – Math Club; second place – Nick Fitzgerald – FCCLA
Cup Stacking (perform the complete cycle of 3-6-3, 6-6, 1-10-1): First place – Jessie Gibson – German Club 19.28 seconds; second place – Rashita Ransom – Art Club 23.25 seconds
Knockout: First place – Mr. Gibson – Staff; second place – Matt Brillhart – Letterman; third place – Kristi McFarland – FCCLA
Tug of War: The finals was between the Staff and the Art Club with the Staff coming out on top.
