Mary C. Davis

Mary Catherine Davis, 76, formerly of Zanesville passed away at 9:15 A.M., Saturday, April 26, 2014 at her home in Conesville where she had resided for the past 30 years.

Born February 13, 1938 in Zanesville, she was the twelfth child of fourteen born to the late William and Mary (Wiseheart) Denton.

Mary was a devoted homemaker and loving mother. She lived for her children and grandchildren. Family members were her life.   Mary loved the outdoors and enjoyed gardening, flowers and bird-watching.

Surviving are two sons William A. Davis of Coshocton, James E. Davis of Conesville; two daughters Debra L. (Richard) Kyser of Dresden, Cheryl A. (Tim) Wood of Zanesville; ten grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; two brothers Elmer Denton of IL, Ralph (Sue) Denton of Zanesville; two sisters Dolly Spaulding and Beckie (Allen) Howard both of Zanesville; many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years William Robert Davis who died September 29, 1999 and a son Robert E. Davis; eight brothers and one sister.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 P.M., Wednesday, April 30, 2014, at the Free Funeral Home, Coshocton with Pastor Mark Granger officiating. Interment will follow at Franklin Cemetery. Calling hours will be held from 1:00 to 3:00 P.M., Wednesday, prior to the services.
