Farm to Table Dinner
Looking for a way to celebrate local food, wine, and overall Appalachian culture? Then you won’t want to miss our second annual Farm to Table dinner on Saturday, September 6. Bob McKenna will cater a three course dinner featuring all local ingredients. We will serve Shawnee Springs wine. And, local fiddler Jeremy Timmons will provide entertainment.
Drs. Dave and Brenda Lozowski, are opening up their century old bank barn as our dining room. What a treat for the senses this will be. For ticket sales and information, contact Kristi Adelsberger (623-8914 or Kristi.adelsberger@gmail.com)

Vendor Updates:

Flying Pig Farm
Try our Spiced Almond Plum Jam on your morning toast, use Red Pepper Jelly as a glaze for pork and try Blueberry, Red Raspberry, Peach or Pear Jam over ice cream. Try our rice and soup mixes as the kids go back to school and life gets hectic. Add a few ingredients, simmer and supper is ready in a snap!

Hillbippie

Our house is on top of a hill in the middle of a hay field, last week our hay was cut.  It looks so different!  We can see things we haven’t been able to see in a while and it is weird without our hay “fence” around us like a security blanket.  The goats have a better view of our porch now so when they see us they make sure they are heard, baaaaaaaaawwwa!  I will not have any bread in today, but I am working from 2-6 and will have TEA samples of my herb tea blend, Reset Button.  Tomorrow I will have PITA in stock.  This became an overnight sensation, get yours quick.  Check facebook for updates!   Focaccia will also be on the shelves tomorrow, it makes a great addition to any meal.

Keene Creek Farm
Oh, what a week it has been. Last Thursday we were so excited to welcome the first little of piggies to the farm (our own gilt and boar)…but Mother Nature had other plans. We lost an entire litter of pigs and the momma. After we tried everything we knew to do to help her out, we called a vet. He made a farm call, but said there was nothing more he (or we) could have done. It just happens sometimes. Not often, but sometimes. We have another gilt close to farrowing and nervously await their arrival. This week you’ll find plenty of brats and sausage products at LB. We hope to make a bacon run Thursday to restock for Friday. We have also restocked our pizza dough mixes and basil salt. Yum. A sincere thank you for trusting us to feed you and your family

Strawberry Hill Farm
Thanks to a little more sunshine, we have more produce available this week. Here’s what you’ll find at Local Bounty, arriving Thursday morning: blueberries, kale, romaine, yellow wax beans, and salad mix.

Woodberry Farm
This  has been a busy year for the those of us on the farm. Our oldest son C.J. married a lovely young lady by the name of Lacie and they have moved to South Carolina, as well as our second son kyle has moved to Columbus permanently. The youngest Kory has graduated and will be leaving for the Navy in November. I would like to send a thank you to all our customers for their understanding during this time of transition.  We are working really hard to get those little baby chicks to grow to the wonderful meat we all love. We hope to have more chicken the freezers in the coming weeks and thank you for your patience in advance.
We urge all of you to come to the Local Bounty this week, we are readjusting our display. We will bringing back our Rocky Road Goat Milk Fudge yumm, there will be some new creations as well. We will be restocking our trail mixes just in time for any of those last minute road trips. I always pack a few different flavors for the discerning members of my family. It gives a quick energy boost and gets you through those mid meal cravings.  I hope all of you can come down this week and enjoy all that our Local Bounty year round farmers market has to offer

Have a wonderful day!
