John Russell Bryant
John Russell Bryant, 90, of Coshocton passed away at Oak Pointe Care Center in Baltic at 6:15 A.M., Tuesday August 19, 2014.
Born December 20, 1923 in Roscoe, John was the son of the late John Wesley and Alice Cinderella (Crosley) Bryant.
John served from November 7, 1942 to November 27, 1945 in the U.S. Army as a Military Policeman with duty in Labrador during World War II.
He was employed for over 35 years at Clow’s retiring as a Crane Operator in 1986.
John was a member of the Roscoe United Methodist Church and the V.F.W. Post #1330.
Before becoming disabled he loved to hunt with his beagle dogs and will be remembered as a great fisherman and his gardening abilities including his beautiful roses.
He will be missed by a daughter Arlene F. (Kenneth) Bailey of Coshocton; three sons Stephen R. (Sharon) Bryant of St. George, Utah, John Michael (Cheryl) Bryant of Coshocton, John R. Bryant II of Adamsville; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a sister Trenna Jean Fritz of Globe, AZ and nieces.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his sister Lucy Pauline Boutwell and granddaughter Robin Bailey.
Calling hours will be held from 11:00 to 1:00 P.M., Saturday, August 23, 2014, at the Free Funeral Home, Coshocton followed by a procession to Coshocton County Memory Gardens Mausoleum where a Memorial Service will be held at 1:30 P.M., Saturday with Pastor Dale Sutton officiating. Entombment will follow. Military Honors will be conducted by the Coshocton County Veterans Council.
