Take a leadership journey with me
I’ve never really considered myself a leader. I always thought I was too quiet and not outgoing enough. This weekend I found out it’s not true.
I started my Leadership Coshocton County journey with a retreat at Salt Fork. I was a little; okay well a lot nervous at first. I’ve never really enjoyed group challenge activities or been one who is willing to share my thoughts with others that I don’t really know. However, by the end of the weekend I was being led around the lodge blindfolded and actually raising my hand to share thoughts.
Our facilitator really got me thinking about who I am, who I want to be and what I value. He also made me realize that I don’t have to change to be a leader. I just have to figure out my strengths and use them to make me the best me I can be.
I doubt this experience will turn me into the next person to run for city council or the next Coshoctonian, but I know I will be a wiser stronger person when this experience is over.
Be sure to check back next month for what I learn about Coshocton County history. I wasn’t born here and didn’t move to town until I was 10 so it should be an interesting experience.
