Thanksgiving dinner served up

| November 21, 2014

DSC_0011COSHOCTON – Ally Stein and Dylan Helmick served up drinks at the 11th annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner. The dinner was held Nov. 20 at Coshocton High School and offered a traditional holiday meal to the community. Stein and Helmick are both sophomores and this was their first year helping with the event. “Last year I came to eat, but it feels better to be volunteering,” Stein said. Cathy Waibel, who organizes the event, greatly appreciates the help of the various clubs and teams at the school. “It’s all about each and every one of these kids helping and the people sitting here eating,” she said. Waibel said they were planning on feeding around 650 people like they did last year. The evening also included entertainment by the music department and the chance to see the Coshocton High School Theater Department perform “Death and Taxes.”

I started my journalism career in 2002 with a daily newspaper chain. After various stops with them, I am happy to be back home! I graduated from Coshocton High School in 1998 and received a Bachelor of Arts in Communication in 2002 from Walsh University. I also earned several awards while working for daily papers, including being honored by Coshocton County’s veterans for the stories I wrote about them. I am honored and ready to once again shine a positive light on Coshocton County. I also am the proud mother of a little girl named Sophia!
