River View swimmers split with New Philly

COSHOCTON – The River View swim team hosted New Philly Dec. 10. The boys took a loss, but had a great showing despite fewer numbers. First place finishers were Brendan Dickson in the 200 free, and 400 free. Nate Cooper was first in the 100 backstroke and second in the 200 free. Andy Smith took second in the 50 free with Jonathon Helmick third. The 200 free relay of Helmick, Bigrigg,Fischer and Dickson took a very close second.

The girls defeated New Philly 92-65. Firsts for the Lady Bears were Lydia Els in the 100 butterfly and 100 backstroke, Madison Woolard in the 200 free and Audree Murray in the 200 IM, Shawna Shroyer in the 100 free. Shroyer also took second in the backstroke and KJ Smailes second in the 100 breaststroke. Fawn Denbow also had a second place in the 200 free and Sam Douglass in the 400 free. The medley relay of Shroyer, Smailes, Els and Douglass took first and the 200 free relay had a first.
