Local Bounty update

| December 18, 2014

Only 7 days until Christmas, can you believe it?!  It is an exciting and magical time of year, make sure you are prepared with gifts and trimmings from Local Bounty. Open today and tomorrow 10-6, Sat. 9-1.

Did you know?

The first Christmas tree retail lot was established in 1851 by a Pennsylvanian named Mark Carr, who hauled tow ox sleds loaded with Christmas trees from the Catskill Mountains to the sidewalks of New York City. almanac.com

Vendor Updates:

Flying Pig Farm

There’s still time for last minute Christmas shopping! We have several gifts ($10 and under) that would be great for any food lover. We also added new evergreen swags for winter time decorating. Check them out on the front of the building. Our dedication to healthy living has influenced us to change the flour in all of our baked goods. Our White Bread, Sandwich Buns and Roasted Pumpkin Bread now feature Wheat Montana Natural White Premium All-purpose non-GMO flour. You can read about the discussion of GM versus non-GMO at www.nongmoproject.org/learn-more, www.thenon-gmoreport.com or research Wheat Montana at www.wheatmontana.com. We hope you’ll enjoy the change as much as we do!

Hillbippie

Almost there!  I am still stuck in September but alas the holidays are upon us. I will not have bread in the market today but look for my buttery Braided Challah Friday. My tea makes a great stocking stuffer, give the gift of comfort in a cup! May you and yours have a happy and a healthy 🙂

Keene Creek Farm

Well, Christmas is almost here. With a two and five year old in the house, the season seems extra magical this year. We hope yours is too. As far as the market goes this week – we will have our pork restocked in the morning. Petite loin roasts, ham loaf, peppered bacon, ham steaks, and our various sausage blends. We also have one ham left (boneless, approximately 9 pounds) – please call the farm if you’d like to reserve it for your Christmas feast (740-623-8023). Marissa was super busy in the kitchen making some dark chocolate sea salt fudge **with cashews** and some hard caramel candies – buttery goodness that melts in your mouth. Christmas blessings from our family to you and yours.
