Lady Generals defeat Amanda-Clearcreek 2-1
West Lafayette – In girls’ soccer, Mackenzie Bates broke a 1-1 tie scoring a goal with 11:59 to play as the Ridgewood Lady Generals defeated Amanda-Clearcreek 2-1.
Kalynn Bluck gave Ridgewood a 1-0 lead in the 18th minute. Bluck took a long throw-in from Taylor Zinkon and shot it over the head of Aces Keeper Bekah Legg for her 14th goal of the season.
Amanda-Clearcreek tied the game one minute later as Dayle Hedges got loose on the outside and scored for the Aces to tie the game a 1-1.
Bates’ game winner was her 9th goal of the season.
Ridgewood (8-2-2) held a 10-5 advantage in shots. Sam Moore recorded 3 saves in goal for the Lady Generals. Legg also finished with 3 for Amanda-Clearcreek.
Ridgewood will play their final home match of the season on Wednesday at 5pm against Morgan. The Lady Generals will honor seniors Mackenzie Bates, Kalynn Bluck, Stormie Curry, Maddy Jones, Anna Powell, Krista Thomason, and Taylor Zinkon.
