CHS and RVHS compete at MLK invite

MARIETTA – Coshocton and River View high schools both competed at the MLK Invite held Jan. 19, at Marietta. Coshocton placed third out of 14 teams and River View placed seventh. River View’s women’s team took home a sixth place finish and Coshocton was right behind them with a seventh place. On the boys’ side Coshocton was first and River View was fourth.

The following local swimmers earned a first through third place at the meet:

– Boys 200 yard medley relay – Coshocton’s team of Bryce Philabaum, Brian Rogers, Cody McVay and Patrick Brouse took first

– Boys 200 yard freestyle – Coshocton’s Brian Rogers took first

– Girls 200 yard IM – River View’s Lydia Els took first

– Boys 50 yard freestyle – Coshocton’s Bryce Philabaum took first, River View’s Brendan Dickson was second, and River View’s Nate Cooper was third

– Boys 100 yard butterfly – Coshocton’s Cody McVay was second

– Boys 100 yard freestyle – Coshocton’s Brian Rogers was first and River View’s Nate Cooper was third

– Boys 200 yard freestyle relay – River View’s team of Brendan Dickson, Andy Smith, Nate Cooper and Dalton Hammond took first

– Girls 100 yard backstroke – River View’s Lydia Els was first

– Boys 100 yard backstroke – Coshocton’s Bryce Philabaum was first

– Girls 100 yard breaststroke – Coshocton’s Georgia Brown was third

– Boys 400 yard freestyle relay – Coshocton’s team of Bryce Philabaum, Cody McVay, Talon Babcock and Brian Rogers was first
