Local Bounty update

| January 22, 2015

Last week’s update was a little jumbled as I understand, my apologies. We’ve got it together this week and are here for you! Stop in as always and see our smiling faces today and tomorrow 10-6, Sat. 9-1.

Vendor Updates

Flying Pig Farm

We promise to get back to baking our non-GMO products soon! We’re working on some new recipes and hope to have Wheat Bread, Cinnamon Raisin and maybe some kind of Garlic Herb. What do you want to see? Like us on Facebook and let us know! www.Facebook.com/OhioFlyingPigFarm

Hillbippie

Life with farm animals is often a life of the unexpected. We had one of our goats get trapped in the fence overnight and go into shock. Luckily two days later she is able to walk again! Goats are a hardy and resilient creature and I am amazed that she has gone from a shivering, shaking mass to an almost normal goat. On a lighter note I will have a new product in the market today, Lavender. It is a wonderfully fragrant herb that adds color and flavor to almost anything, use in body care products, cooking, baking and more. I will also have my French Boule, mad with only FOUR ingredients! Look for the return of my Pleasant Peasant bread tomorrow, a blend of Rye, Whole Wheat and Unbleached White Flours, it is packed with flavor and brimming with texture, Enjoy!

Keene Creek Farm

Oh, the sun the past few days has been a wonderful thing. The hogs are absolutely loving the mud it has created. This week have restocked our freezer and our shelves at Local Bounty. As usual, you’ll find a vast selection of pork cuts in our freezer- roasts for this winter season, sausage patties, ham steaks, ham loaf, brats, and much more. Our shelves are restocked with Bar Stool Pretzels, pizza dough mixes and Aunt M’s Monster Mix. Lard will be back in this week too. Many thanks for your continued support.

Millcreek Homestead

This week we’re celebrating Ohio!  I have little OSU soaps that would look so cute by your sink or a soap in the shape of Ohio. Need a gift? Ohio gift boxes have the  Ohio shaped soap, candle, and room spray in a scarlet and gray gift box. Go Bucks!

Windy Hill Berry Farm

Did you try our Chocolate Covered Potato Chips last week? Well, this week’s are even better because they are Chocolate-Peanut Butter Covered Potato Chips. Sound strange? They’re actually really, really good. We also have re-stocked our Rosemary Grape Jelly. Some have called it a grown-up’s grape jelly. The grapes were grown on our farm, just five minutes from Local Bounty. You can’t get much more local than that, except for the other fine products offered by all the vendors at Local Bounty. Stop in today, pick up something for dinner tonight and get a treat for yourself
