Local Bounty Update

| January 29, 2015

Good Morning Local Bounty Shoppers,

We hope this finds you well this slippery morning.  Be safe out there, but be sure to make us one of your important stops.  Open today and tomorrow 10-6, Sat. 9-1.

Countdown to Spring:  49 days!

Vendor Updates:

Flying Pig Farm
New this week Wheat, Garlic Herb and Cinnamon Raisin Bread! The Garlic Herb almost didn’t make it to the store it smelled so good. We have Hamburger and Brat Buns too. I’ve also made a fresh batch of Strawberry Rhubarb Jam and Orange Pineapple Zucchini Jam. I know it sounds strange but it makes toast taste like pineapple upside down cake! The Cinnamon Raisin didn’t raise as well as I’d like so it’s priced at $2.50 (this week only). Like us on Facebook and let us know what you think! www.Facebook.com/OhioFlyingPigFarm

Hillbippie

I just had a slice of French Boule right out of the oven, toasted with Flying Pig’s Red Raspberry Jam, wow.  Add a cup of White Winter Chair and Yikes!  Focaccia and French Boule will be in this morning.  Remember French Boule has a crusty crust and soft chewy crumb, perfect as French Toast, Panini, Garlic Bread or just toasted with butter.  Focaccia is so light and airy in the center and is superb at soaking up sauce.  My husband thinks it is a utensil when I make spaghetti! Tomorrow I will have Braided Challah which is so buttery and so yum! P.S My goat Brownie that was injured last week has made a full recovery and has been accepted back into the herd 🙂

Keene Creek Farm

Oh, there isn’t a cut of pork (that we offer anyway) that isn’t in stock at Local Bounty. Roasts, bacon (Canadian and peppered), brats, marinated and naked loin chops, ham steaks, ham hocks, bulk sausage, breakfast patties, ham loaf…it’s all there. We just picked up some smoked sausage links from the processor last week. They are nitrite free and have a beautiful smoke ring that only comes from a very good smoking process. Our Bar Stool Pretzels sold like crazy last week. There are four more bags left, and if we don’t get them restocked this week, they will make up more for next week. We continue to be humbled by your support and look forward to helping feed your family this upcoming weekend/week.

Millcreek Homestead

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner.  Pamper your Valentine to an organic gift box with a heart shaped soap, sugar scrub, and whipped shea butter.  I also stocked the store with Valentine Duckie Soaps.  They are so cute!  Check out my Facebook page to see them.  facebook.com/MillCreekHomestead  Or get the man in your life a shaving set with shaving soap and a shaving mug from Liberty Pottery.  Sure to please!

Windy Hill Farm

This week our Rhubarb-Pecan Bread is back. It’s sweet and nutty and seems to be quite popular. What else does one do when snowed in? Create something new…Chocolate-Covered Gummy Bears! The bread, along with our White Trash and Chocolate-Peanut Butter Covered Potato Chips, will be in the store Thursday morning and the Gummy Bears will be in the store Friday. Thank you to all our loyal customers. We appreciate your business.

Young Farms

Our freezer is running low but still has a wide variety of options for beef. We are letting our freezer get almost empty so we can defrost and clean it out before the next round of beef. We still have round steaks, pot roasts, chuck roasts, cube steaks, loin strip steaks, T-bone steaks, Ribeye steaks, sirloin steaks, ground sirloin patties, ground round, and regular ground beef. Hurry and get your supply before it’s out! But don’t worry, if it does get empty, it will be getting re-stocked in the coming weeks with all your favorites, and then some! Thank you for your continued support!

We thank you kindly!
