Career Center hosts open house

| February 13, 2015

COSHOCTON – The Coshocton County Career Center was packed with community members, alumni and perspective students Thursday evening Feb. 12. The school opened its doors to the public for its annual open house, which gave people the opportunity to tour the school and visit booths set up by various businesses and organizations from the area. “I like the different variety of people you meet at the open house,” said Quynh Do, a senior in the cosmetology program. “I hope this teaches people what we do, encourages students to come here and the community to vote for our levy.” Rachel Wright, another senior in the program, also was looking forward to the event. “I hope they see how serious we are about what we do and that we have a passion for it,” she said. The cosmetology department is open to the public from noon to 2:18 p.m. on Wednesdays and Thursday. Appointments can be made by calling 622-0211 ext. 1114.

I started my journalism career in 2002 with a daily newspaper chain. After various stops with them, I am happy to be back home! I graduated from Coshocton High School in 1998 and received a Bachelor of Arts in Communication in 2002 from Walsh University. I also earned several awards while working for daily papers, including being honored by Coshocton County’s veterans for the stories I wrote about them. I am honored and ready to once again shine a positive light on Coshocton County. I also am the proud mother of a little girl named Sophia!
