Madeline Hire signs to play volleyball at MVNU
COSHOCTON – Madeline Hire, a Coshocton High School senior, recently signed her national letter of intent to play college volleyball at Mount Vernon Nazarene University.
While competing as a three year starter for the Lady Redskins Girls Volleyball Team, Madeline Hire has accumulated numerous individual awards. She was named to the East Central Ohio League First Team in 2012, 2013, and 2014. At the District 5 level, she was a Second Team selection in 2012 and 2013. In 2014, she was honored as a First Team selection and a District 5 All-Star Participant. As a middle hitter, Hire set two school records for kills in a game and for kills in a career while also being named the team MVP in 2014.
Her varsity career stats are: Kills – 625; digs – 361; blocks – 190; points – 143; aces – 64; serve % – 93.0. School records are: Kills in a game – 27 and kills in a career – 625.
“We are very proud of Madeline Hire’s accomplishments here at CHS,” said Tim Fortney, athletic director. “She is very talented in all of her extra-curricular activities. She is an accomplished student/athlete as well as an unbelievable performing artist. Her success is a direct result of her hard work and dedication both on the field, the stage, and the classroom. We are going to miss her but we certainly wish her great success at Mount Vernon Nazarene University.”
