Kids Cooking Camp: Dates Set for July 27-July 31

This year’s fun, interactive cooking camp for kids will be held July 27-July 31. As in years past, there will be two time sessions to pick from each morning (one at 10 a.m. and the other at 11 a.m.). Classes will be held at Local Bounty Coshocton and will last approximately 40 minutes. Registration is $30 and classes are appropriate for kids age 4-10. Scholarships are available (thanks to a generous community member) – but we ask that you only apply for the scholarships if money restricts your child(ren)’s participation in the camp. Registration/Scholarship forms are available at the OSU Extension Office (our partner for this camp) and at Local Bounty. Registration is required and space is limited. All participants will receive an apron and some fun cooking utensils.

Flying Pig Farm

We’ve been busy planting our heirloom veggies and are hopeful we’ll have produce to sell this summer! It’s always interesting trying to plan around a toddler’s schedule. 🙂 This week we have Lemon Poppyseed Muffins and Caramel Hazelnut Sweet Rolls along with our usual offerings. Remember we will make gluten-free bread or buns just for you! Order by writing your name and item on the list to the left of our booth or by contacting us at www.facebook.com/OhioFlyingPigFarm

Ello Ello and good morning! Last night’s moon was so bright it was like sun shining through our bedroom window, paired with the stars and lightning bugs it was a sight, get out there and look around it’s a beautiful world! Tomorrow I will have a new tea at the bounty, Jasmine Joy, it is made with Organic Green Tea, scented with Jasmine Petals and White Tea. When brewing this blend it is only necessary to steep approx. 4 minutes, Green and White teas do not require long steeping to attain their delicious, delicate flavor. I will also have Mellow Morning (Organic Green Tea and Chamomile) restocked tomorrow. Check out my new pottery pieces, little bowls and plates perfect for dips or snacks. All are dishwasher, microwave and oven safe!! Thanks so much and check out my facebook page for more pics and info 🙂 Peace

Humble Bee Bakery

HUGE thank you to all the customers for their support over the last 4 months. I have greatly enjoyed being  part of the Local Bounty family and sharing my baked goods with everyone. With working full time I am unable to dedicate the hours I feel are deserved to my booth at the market. This week will be my last week selling and I’ve ended on a happy note with my best selling items! Please keep in touch with me on Facebook via Humble Bee Bakery…it’s been a pleasure baking for you. ~From my hive to yours, Samantha

Keene Creek Farm

Lettuce will be plentiful this week from us. Our kale crop is also starting to be really strong – so we have a couple nice full bags of that too. The past few days of cooler temps have been ideal for both cold crops. The Genovese Zucchini we have started in the hoop house look really, really good. We also have Boston PIckling Cucumbers going strong. Back on our shelves this week are our dip mixes. They have new packaging, but the same great taste – Mexican Fiesta, Veggie Herb and Ranch. If I have the time to make some samples this morning I will. If not, I’ll definitely have some next week. As far as our pork supply goes: we are *out* of bacon. We will not have any more until August (most likely), we apologize for running out. I am bringing down lots of Canadian bacon to help fulfill the “meat candy” urge though. All other cuts (brats, chops, ham loaf, bulk sausage/patties, and more are in stock though). No update on getting two more Longhorn bred heifers yet this week. They were blood tested yesterday (to make sure they’re pregnant) – so we hope to know results soon. And, if they are bred, we’d like to get them here within the next week.

Millcreek Homestead

Who’s ready for some strawberries??? Our season is just kicking in to full swing and the plants are absolutely loaded with berries!  We will only have 4 quarts to share with you Thursday, but given a little sunshine, we should have lots more than that tomorrow and Saturday. We use certified organic fertilizer and never any pesticides or harmful chemicals on our farm. We have lots of fresh cut dill and oregano coming in this morning, too. Our chickens are also enjoying this nice weather and have been laying more eggs than we can handle, so there will be 6 dozen of our GMO-free, pastured eggs in the cooler.

Windy Hill Berry Farm

Stocked up on our shelves this week are Chocolate Covered Peanut Butter Pretzel Bites, white chocolate party mix, and Rhubarb Pecan Bread.
