McBride to perform in Coshocton

COSHOCTON – The Roscoe UMC music department is pleased to announce that Darius McBride will be sharing his musical gifts in their outdoor shelter and church sanctuary on June 21 for their 8:30 and 10:30 a.m. services.  Roscoe UMC is located at 475 High St., Coshocton. McBride is a senior Music Education major at Malone University in Canton, OH, and is originally from Rochester, NY. During his time at the university, he has participated in the Malone Opera Theatre under the direction of Professor Cynthia Wohlschlager. McBride is part of the Malone Chorale and Chamber Choir where he serves as student conductor and tenor section leader under the direction of Dr. Jon C. Peterson. He is part of the Multicultural Student Union where he serves as the One Voice Gospel Choir director. Aside from his work and studies at Malone, McBride is currently the director of music/choir director at the First United Church of Christ in Sugarcreek, OH.  Besides his vocal activities, he is also an avid arranger/composer and church musician/conductor. McBride studied voice with Professor Cynthia Wohlschlager, Angela Rose and Charles Spencer, conducting with Dr. David Donelson and Dr. Jon C. Peterson, composition/orchestration with Dr. Jesse Ayers & Dr. Jack Ballard and piano with Mark Greer. On June 6, 2015, he was on stage at the Tuscarawas Performing Arts Center with Frank D’Ambrosio, world’s longest running phantom, helping to sing the duet ‘All I Ask of You’ from ‘Phantom of the Opera’.
