Commissioners discuss possible exterior work on the Courthouse
COSHOCTON – The Coshocton County Commissioners met with Pat Kelley of Kelley Architectural Services on Wednesday, Aug. 12 to discuss possible exterior work on the Coshocton County Courthouse. While nothing was finalized, the commissioners talked about restoring the intricate sandstone around the windows. Kelley said that grinding or sandblasting the sandstone might reshape the decorative pieces and be more cost-effective. The difference between replacing a repairing the stone is the difference in cost and also the goal for the end design.
The county commissioners are also considering sealing the brick of the courthouse with a breathable sealant that would need to be done every five years. They also discussed the possibility of replacing the steps leading up to the courthouse door.
All final decisions are based on cost and Kelley said he needs to do more research before giving the commissioners any prices.
