Appalachia Heritage Success Stories to be shared

COLUMBUS – Appalachia Heritage Success Stories was conceived by Ohio’s Hill Country Heritage Area and Heritage Ohio as an opportunity to share the many diverse successes that highlight the past and future of Ohio’s Appalachia Region.

Eleven businesses/organizations, including the Pomerene Center for the Arts, will present three minute success stories featuring successful entities taking place in Appalachia that create, enhance, preserve and improve the understanding of Ohio Appalachian Heritage and that improve Appalachia’s quality of life. The chosen three-minute success stories will be presented from 3 to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 22, at Ohio’s Statehouse Atrium.

Registration begins at 2:30 p.m. and at 3 p.m. tours of the Statehouse will be given by Statehouse Architect Bob Loversidge and Historian Nancy Recchie. The reception will begin at 4 p.m., the Success Stories at 4:30 p.m. and the event will end at 6 p.m. Tickets for the event are $20 and can be purchased at www.heritageohio.org.
