Coshocton Grain working in cooperation with Interstate Commodities
COSHOCTON – In early October, Coshocton Grain Company (CGC) will reopen its Browns Lane facility in Coshocton, in cooperation with Interstate Commodities, Inc. (ICI).
Following an explosion on Aug. 13, 2014, construction on the new elevator began in early June of 2015. The CGC shareholders approved the relationship with ICI for Browns Lane as well as for their Hebron location. ICI will operate the facilities while the CGC shareholders will retain ownership of the assets. The staff at Coshocton will continue to be employed in their respective positions.
Rhoda Sue Crown, CEO of CGC and Paul Zysset, VP of Grain Trading for ICI are very excited to begin this new endeavor to provide a viable, competitive market for the area producers’ grain.
This cooperative effort showcases the long standing tradition of CGC’s local service to the area producers. Combined with the strength of ICI’s domestic and international marketing capabilities, this agreement will be beneficial to both companies and the community.
Coshocton Grain Company is a privately owned corporation with grain elevators in Ohio and Edgar County, Illinois. CGC is a country elevator handling corn and soybeans.
The company began operations on Browns Lane in 1948 with the current shareholders gaining ownership in 1993. Interstate Commodities, Inc. is a third generation, family owned business that markets over 30 commodities domestically and internationally for an annual sales volume of over $2 billion. ICI operates grain storage facilities in Ohio as well as in the Midwest and throughout the country. ICI also exports grain and feed ingredients and runs a full service railcar leasing company. ICI ships 350 million bushels of grain and two million tons of feed ingredients annually.
