Gibbs makes statement on continuing resolution vote
WASHINGTON, DC – Following the vote on the continuing resolution, Congressman Bob Gibbs released the following statement:
“Today, I voted against a short-term funding bill that does not address the real problems here in Washington. While the House has been doing its work and passing bills that fund the government, the Senate hides behind a self-imposed 60-vote rule that stops the work of the people in its tracks.
“I have always said that short term funding mechanisms should be only be used in special circumstances. Waiting until the last minute only continues the status quo. My vote is a protest against governing by crisis.”
